Terms of Use — iCanyons

iCanyons (“the app”) is a project by Roger Arcarons Llonc, Lleida (Spain). Contact: hola@icanyons.app. By downloading or using the app you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Important safety notice

Canyoning is a risk activity. Information about water flow, difficulty and the condition of canyons is provided by the community of users and is not verified or guaranteed. Water levels can change quickly and dangerously. You are solely responsible for your own safety: assess the actual conditions on the ground, the weather and your technical level before descending. iCanyons is not liable for accidents, damages or losses arising from the use of the information in the app.

1. Account

You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for the activity on your account. You must be at least 14 years old.

2. User content

You are responsible for the content you publish (reports, photos, videos, comments). You warrant that you hold the necessary rights and that you do not infringe third-party rights or publish illegal, offensive or misleading content. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host and display that content within the app in order to provide the service. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

3. Canyon data

Each canyon's page includes basic technical data (name, location, grade) compiled or verified by iCanyons, and may also include links to reference sources in the sector (Infobarrancos, Wikiloc and similar), cited with attribution to their owners. Those links lead to the original site, where the full content belongs to its respective owners. If any owner believes a link or citation infringes their rights, they can write to hola@icanyons.app to have it corrected or removed.

4. Intellectual property and data protection

The canyon catalogue compiled and verified by iCanyons, together with the community's aggregated data (water flow levels, ratings, statistics), is the property of iCanyons / Roger Arcarons Llonc, with all rights reserved, including protection as a database under the applicable intellectual property rules (Spanish implementation of Directive 96/9/EC). Extracting, systematically reusing, scraping, or otherwise using this data, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission is prohibited. This does not affect the content you publish yourself (reports, photos, comments), which you continue to own as set out in point 2.

5. Prohibited conduct

Publishing false information that could endanger other people.
Impersonating others or violating their privacy.
Using the app for unlawful purposes or to harm the service.
Extracting, scraping, or systematically reusing the app's data without authorisation, as set out in point 4.

6. Ad-free version

The app is free with advertising. You may make a one-time purchase to remove the ads through the corresponding app store, subject to its payment and refund conditions.

7. Availability and liability

We provide the service “as is”, without any guarantee of continuous availability or accuracy of the information. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.

9. Changes and applicable law

We may amend these Terms by publishing the current version on this page. Spanish law applies; any dispute will be subject to the courts and tribunals that are competent under consumer protection rules. This English version is provided for convenience; in the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
